Muscat: The governorates of Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, Musandam, and elements of Al Dhahirah have began receiving torrential rains, which can extending to incorporate the remainder of the governorates.

As there are possibilities of flowing wadis, individuals are urged to be alert and cautious.

The governorates to be affected are Musandam, South al Batinah, Al Buraimi, South al Sharqiyah, Muscat, Al Dhahirah, Al Dhakilyah, Al Wusta, North al Sharqiyah and North al Batinah.

There are possibilities of rainfall of various depth, typically very heavy and accompanied by hail,

downdrafts with speeds starting from 20 to 50 knots (37 to 93 km/h) and lowered horizontal visibility throughout rainfall.

Royal Oman Police (ROP) has stated that crossing wadis throughout rains regardless of warnings stays probably the most harmful and most repeated habits of the folks.

Abdullah bin Rashid al Khadhuri, Director Common of the Directorate Common of Meteorology, CAA, “A brand new climate situation is anticipated to convey torrential rain, which can to have an effect on Buraimi and Musandam first, after which to increase over different governorates.  Oman’s specialised meteorological centres are geared up with satisfactory monitoring programs.”
