IPOH, June 15 — The variety of flood evacuees housed at momentary aid centres in Perak rose to 92 folks from 33 households this morning, in contrast with 17 folks from eight households final evening.
The State Catastrophe Administration Committee (JPBN) Secretariat mentioned two aid centres had been opened within the two affected districts — Larut, Matang and Selama at 8pm, and Manjung at 11.30pm final evening.
“The aid centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Batu Hampar within the Larut, Matang and Selama district recorded a rise in evacuees in contrast with final evening, housing 41 folks from 14 households following floods affecting Kampung Batu 25, Kampung Berjaya, Kampung Batu 23 and Sungai Rotan.
“In the meantime, the aid centre at SK Beruas within the Manjung district recorded 51 evacuees from 19 households from flood-affected areas in Kampung Kilang, Taman Anggerik Permai and Kampung Pulau Kabung,” it mentioned in a press release.
In the meantime, the Malaysian Meteorological Division (MetMalaysia) issued a thunderstorm warning at 5.30am at present for the areas of Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Bagan Datuk, Manjung and Hilir Perak.
As well as, the Division of Irrigation and Drainage reported that water ranges in Sungai Perak within the districts of Hilir Perak and Bagan Datuk had exceeded hazard ranges, with readings of 1.38 metres and 0.66 metres, respectively. — Bernama
