PEOPLE’S INSURANCE STRENGTHENS MARKET POSITION WITH 39% GWP AND 63% PBT GROWTH IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2026


Letters of appointment have been offered to the members of the Salaries and Pensions Fee, established by the President with the first goal of addressing points referring to the salaries and pensions of public sector staff and pensioners. The ceremony was held this afternoon (June 24) on the Presidential Secretariat underneath the patronage of the Secretary to the President, Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.

The letters of appointment have been acquired by Mr T. Ashoka Peiris, a retired Ministry Secretary who serves because the Chairman of the Fee, and the opposite members of the Fee: Justice  Okay.Okay.A.V. Swarnadhipathi (Retired), Mr N.B.M. Ranatunga, Dr R.W. Jayantha, Dr G.M. Mudith Sujeewa, Brigadier  B.J. Fernando (Retired), Mr A.L. Mohamed Mukthar, Mr S.T.B. Ratnayake, Mr A.W. Lal Chandra Weerakoon, Mr G.A.P. Pathmanatha, Mr Okay.Sarath Lal Perera, and the Secretary to the Fee, Mr D.M.C. Nalaka Dissanayake.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake not too long ago took steps to determine the Salaries and Pensions Fee via Extraordinary Gazette No. 2494/05 dated 22 June 2026, with the target of discovering options to the problems referring to the salaries and pensions of public sector staff and pensioners.

Senior Extra Secretary to the President, Mr Roshan Gamage, was additionally current on the event.
