MUSCAT : Indian crew members injured in an assault on the industrial vessel MT On Peace are recovering effectively in hospitals in Oman, the Indian embassy in Muscat stated on Friday, thanking Omani authorities for his or her help.
The injured seafarers are receiving remedy in Khasab, Sohar and Muscat, the embassy stated in a press release on X.
“We deeply recognize the well timed help of Omani authorities in evacuating and offering medical remedy to injured Indian crew members,” it stated.
The embassy stated it remained in shut contact with the seafarers’ households, delivery firms, hospitals and Omani authorities to observe their restoration.
The Panama-flagged vessel was struck by a projectile whereas transiting the Strait of Hormuz off Oman’s coast on Tuesday, in accordance with India’s Ministry of Exterior Affairs. Twelve crew members have been injured, together with 11 Indians. The vessel carried 19 crew members, 17 of them Indian nationals.
Omani authorities helped evacuate the injured crew, who have been initially taken to Khasab for remedy.
