A bus driver has been arrested by Piliyandala Police in reference to an incident wherein a Metro bus was allegedly intentionally concerned in an accident within the Miriswatta space on the Kesbewa–Colombo highway.
The arrested driver was working a luxurious bus on route No. 120 between Horana and Colombo.
In line with police, the luxurious bus had been following the Metro bus, which was travelling from Kahathuduwa in the direction of Colombo.
From the Kesbewa junction onwards, the motive force of the luxurious bus had allegedly been flashing its headlights, sounding the horn and overtaking in an unsafe method.
Within the Miriswatta space, the luxurious bus abruptly overtook the Metro bus and allegedly brought on the rear part of the luxurious bus to collide with the entrance proper nook of the Metro bus, ensuing within the accident.
The deliberate collision broken the Metro bus’s right-side mirror and the window beneath it.
The entire injury to the automobile has been estimated at Rs. 342,000. CCTV footage from a close-by digital camera clearly captured the incident.
The arrested driver is a 44-year-old resident of Pokunuwita, Horana.
He’s scheduled to be produced earlier than the Kesbewa Justice of the Peace’s Court docket underneath the Public Property Act.
Piliyandala Police are conducting additional investigations into the incident.
